Jess Rivera is a Marine, a barber, and a fighter for the working people of eastern North Carolina. She’s seen how broken systems fail the very families who keep our towns alive, and she’s had enough.
From two combat deployments to building The Garrison Barber & Parlor in downtown Wilson, Jess has spent her life in service — listening, leading, and creating spaces where people come together. She knows our communities deserve better than crumbling roads, underfunded schools, and politicians who talk about hard work but don’t live it.
As a small business owner and veteran, Jess believes leadership means showing up, doing the work, and putting people before power. She’s running for State Senate to rebuild trust in public service, strengthen local economies, and return power where it belongs: to the people of Greene, Wayne, and Wilson Counties.
